Haleakala

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Hawaii, visiting the  islands of Oahu and Maui.  Friends had told us that while in Maui, we would be making a mistake if we did not visit Haleakala.  They were definitely correct!  At this time, we had no clue about the National Park Stamp program.  In fact, despite living near a few of them,  my wife and I had really never given the National Park system much thought.

Once we made it up to the summit, I was looking around the bookstore and saw this stamp laying out. My wife and I asked the park ranger about the stamp. She then explained the stamp program to us, told us about the passport book, etc. We decided to get a book and stamp our first stamp. After getting home and looking more at the book and online, we discovered the vast amount of places we could visit. We were hooked!

About Haleakala:
This is a must see if you are fortunate enough to visit Maui.  It really is like no other place on earth; the views are absolutely amazing, and that’s saying a lot given pretty much every view in Hawaii is gorgeous. My wife and I really enjoyed it. One thing we wish we had done was dressed for the chill. We did not not take into account how much cooler it would be at the top of the mountain. Check out our pictures below.
