About the program:
The National Park Passport Stamps program, as we know it today, began in 1986. The program is maintained by a non-profit organization named Eastern National. Nearly all of the National Parks have one or more cancellation stamps available. Each stamp represents a visit to a park or other National Site. There no charge for the cancellation stamps. You can follow this link to see an example of a cancellation stamp (our first stamp). Below is a video about the early beginnings of the program.
